MACHANEH SCHOLARSHIPS

The following camp bursaries have been offered by members of the community. Affording a child the opportunity to attend a summer machaneh is truly a wonderful gift and we are, as always, hugely appreciative of the generosity of those helping children to attend machaneh.

Marcelle Biderman-Pam scholarship:
A full bursary to attend Habonim Machaneh in December is being offered in memory of Marcelle Biderman-Pam, who sadly passed away during 2009. Marcelle was a true movement chaverah who served as a madrichah in the seventies. Her magnificent folk singing, together with her sister Judy, who was tragically killed in an accident in her early twenties, is remembered to this day. Marcelle, who epitimised the values of Habonim Dror in her everyday life, initiated the concept of a machaneh social worker and spent five years of her adult life working in this capacity during December machanot. This bursary has been made available to afford new channichim the opportunity of experiencing the magic of Habonim Dror. If you would like to apply, please send a motivation explaining why you feel you should be considered to scholarship@habo.org.za.
