Held on the 11 May 2009. Attended by Kevin Sack, Daniel Linde, Shaun Reznik and Daniel Barnett. April Seminar was run from the 12th - 17th April 2009

Pre Event
- Have to be careful with the Pesach issue
- Should have decided sooner
- Need to be careful about always catering to orthodox pressure
- Bad that we kept going back on our decisions
- Didn’t do so well in fundraising specifically for this project
Logistics
- Was good to have a separate logistics person
- Shaun: It wasn’t a lot to do
Campaign
- Mazkirim can’t rely so much on tzevet members.
- Kev thinks the colour flyer was a waste
- Shaun thinks we should have just printed less
- Daan: Have to do some colour flyer
- Bog 1’s: Did pretty well out of our pool
- Shom: Felt like there were ppl missing that should have been there
- Weird dynamic in Shom to look at for next year: Hardly any jhb boys came and NO CT girls
Madrichim
- Kev: Could have run it with less madrichim
- Daan: Don’t want less, because 6 brilliant people is better than 4 brilliant people
- Shaun: When there were six people on a tzevet, we could have sent a few more to kitchen
- Feedback needs to be done for all madrichim involved
- Needed more girls on the tzevet
Tochniet
- Shom: Kev thought it was top quality
- Barn: Can’t start a week before with the tochniet
- Shaun says we need to distinguish the gap between the two age groups
- Need to sort out a two year plan? And put it on the wiki?
- Daan to send out outline of his seminar to kev for him to work on syllabus from
- Bogrim 1: Solid Hadrachah and ideological seminar
Food
- For first 3 days was fine
- Last 2 days were very weak
- Need to have more ideas for options to eat if over pesach
- When there was more than one person in kitchen it was fine
- Food was a lot more pesadich than last year
- Shaun to upload menu to the wiki, and leave gaps where it was shit
Entertainment
- Paintball was good, not for everyone
- Needed a guitar
- Did some really cool stuff in schlichs, the shomrim projects worked well
- Could have done better in adding “little touches” to the seminar
Payments
- Mostly delegated to Shirley and to Phyllis
- The large portion of them are Bog 1 Cape Town
- Daan to get Heidi to upload the names
Recommendations
- Mazkirim need to take on the campaign more themselves
- Kev to put Bog/Shom stuff from last two years on the wiki
- Check carefully that food that gets ordered has arrived
- Can’t only have 1 person in the kitchen at any time, and if we are going to, they must be competent
- More salads should be included next year, with lots of soup
- Make sure before that urns are there and working
- Maybe have something else planned during paintball, or maybe the chill time fo those not playing is good
- Make sure there will be guitars for schlichsville
- Repeat concepts of shomrim chavurah projects
- Look at bringing back the crazy night time wide game
- Fetching and dropping ppl at the airport with the buses were great
- Make sure there is someone there with a camera
- Kev to make sure Mia uploads pics to website
- Need to think about how we’ll create a culture of people knowing about April sem as a massive thing (maybe advertising during last week of machaneh in Sayarim and Shomrim chader ochel, bring kids who were on the seminar with)
- Tochniet: Look at giving them more that they can physically take home
