Ilan Strauss

Ilan Strauss is a former S'gan Mazkir Klali of HDSA. Strauss began his Habonim career in Amelim 1999 and later went on to do a year of movement work as S'gan Mazkir Klali in 2008 and Rosh Chinnuch on the Va'ad Poel at Machaneh Tnua Letzedek.

Tafkidim

Cape Town Ken

On returning from Shnat 2004 in 2005 he went on to hold many tafkidim in the Cape Town Ken, including Cape Town Shnat co-ordinator, Rosh Shtilim on the Cape Town Mazkirut and Rosh Chinnuch on Mini Machaneh 1 of 2006.

S'gan Rosh Bogrim 2006 In 2006 Strauss held the position of S'gan Rosh Bogrim in the Cape Town Ken under Rosh Bogrim Gabi Elte. The Cape Town VP was made up of Rosh Ken Adam Sack and S'gan Rosh Ken Tammi Glick.

Rosh Ken 2007 In 2007 Strauss headed the Cape Town Ken along with Daniel Barnett as his S'gan and Rosh and S'gan Bogrim, Daniel Linde and Kevin Sack.

Va'ad Machaneh

S'gan Rosh Bonim at Machaneh Neveh Shalom 2005 in 2005 Strauss held the position of S'gan Rosh Bonim with Matthew Wolf as his Rosh.

S'gan Rosh Shomrim at Machaneh Aleh Uvneh 2006 In 2006 Strauss held the position of S'gan Rosh Shomrim with Adam Wagenehim as his Rosh

Rosh Sollelim at Machaneh Hechalutz 2007 In 2007 Strauss teamed up with Matthew Wolf once again, this time with reversed roles.

Rosh Chinnuch at Winter Camp 2007 At the very first Habonim Winter Camp in Durban Strauss held the position of Rosh Chinnuch on the VP.

Rosh Chinnuch at Machaneh T'nua Le'Tzedek 2008 At Machaneh Tnua Letzedek Strauss was a member of the camp Va'ad Poel (Steering Committee) as Rosh Chinnuch, along with Daniel Barnett (S'gan Rosh Machaneh), Adam Sack (Rosh Machaneh) and Shaun Reznik (Camp Organiser).

Movement Work

In 2008 Strauss spent a year in Johannesburg as S'gan Mazkir Klali. He lived at the Johannesburg Bayit with Adam Sack and Doron Moshe.
